“Home.”

Perhaps there's more to freedom than just being free.

As children, we would always wonder how life will be when we grow up, how exciting it would be to finally be able to do the things that we want to do and visit places we want to visit. Freedom was always such an interesting and seemingly elusive concept to us no matter how lenient our elders would be to us, because there would always be this nagging feeling that there’s still so much that the world offers that we would never get to see if we continue being stuck with our little bodies and stubby fingers. As a child, Nao looked up to the sky and wondered the same thing as well, even if he was more ‘free’ in many aspects as compared to the other kids. His parents were never strict, he made friends easily, he did whatever he pleased, and he expressed himself in ways other kids wouldn’t usually think of – burst out in songs, doodle on walls, bang his hands on tables in a rhythm that usually only he understands.

Even as a grown man, Nao carried that air of freedom in him. He mingled with others without restraint, he said directly whatever it is on his mind, played and made songs that openly described his emotions. He was everywhere and deep inside his heart he’d smile, because he knows that he fulfilled a childhood dream.

Somehow that still didn’t satisfy him. All his life he lived without any kind of boundaries and yet there are times that he’d feel there’s something that he hasn’t quite conquered yet. How silly that sounded, because whatever he wanted to do, he did, and whatever he wanted to reach, he reached.

But once he’s finished letting himself go in the stages and recording studios that he’s come to love, at the end of the day when he twists open the knob to his apartment, that void was always filled. And he’d always smile a bit more visibly because he’d realize that rather than to spread his wings and fly, he’d prefer to just fall into Shin’s arms.
